Vascular Surgery CME from the Experts

A joint effort from the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at UCLA and Society for Vascular Surgery, this online CME course focuses on the major pillars of vascular surgery: conventional open operations, catheter-based intervention (endovascular surgery), the medical aspect of patient management, and diagnostic imaging and noninvasive testing.

Internationally recognized faculty present lectures covering important recent developments, along with roundtable Q&A sessions. In recognition of the increasingly important role of endovascular intervention, the Comprehensive Review and Update of What’s New in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery continuing medical education program also provides an informative update on endovascular surgery and relevant case studies.

* Date of Original Release: November 30, 2019

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to affirm or modify their proach to patient management in the following areas:

  • Describe the indications, technique, and results of the spectrum of open vascular operations including such common procedures as carotid endarterectomy, repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm, aorto-femoral bypass, and infra-inguinal bypass.
  • Outline the management of varicose veins and deep venous occlusive disease
  • Identify the indications, technique, and results of the spectrum of catheter-based intervention including endovascular repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm, aorto-iliac and femoral-popliteal-tibial occlusive disease, and carotid artery stenting.
  • Manage vascular disease including treatment of hypertension, risk factor modification, the use of anti-platelet, anti-coagulant, and statin therapy.
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including duplex ultrasound, magnetic resonance angiography,
CT angiography, and catheter-based contrast angiography.
