26 views Tags: CME Harvard Medical School

The Harvard Dermatopathology Update 2024 offers a comprehensive review of key areas in dermatopathology, led by distinguished Harvard Medical School faculty and expert guest speakers. Designed to address current gaps and challenges in patient care, the course focuses on advances in diagnosing cutaneous tumors—including melanocytic, adnexal, and soft tissue tumors—as well as inflammatory dermatoses.

This year’s program centers around the theme “Challenges for the Current and Future Practice of Dermatopathology,” combining traditional morphology with cutting-edge techniques such as immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostics. The curriculum includes didactic lectures, interactive discussions, and a half-day case-based session featuring digital slides for pre-session review. Participants will also have access to an online handout for supplementary learning.

* Date of Original Release: September 26-28, 2024

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss new criteria for pathologic diagnoses, including molecular diagnostics.
  • Integrate modern staging systems for tumors into clinical practice.
  • Evaluate and distinguish cutaneous neoplasms including melanocytic, squamous, and lymphoid from mimics.
  • Apply clinical pathologic correlation in evaluating inflammatory dermatoses.
  • Understand the current challenges facing practicing dermatopathologists.
