The 5th Annual UCSF Addiction Conference aims to increase the core competency of medical teams in the inpatient and outpatient settings to improve care for patients who use drugs and alcohol. This conference will increase skills in diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of common substance use disorders through didactics taught by local addiction experts, as well as small group discussions to apply this knowledge to patient care. This is a Virtual Conference.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Apply new knowledge in practice to more often recognize signs of substance use disorders (SUDs)
  • Implement screening in practice to confirm SU
  • Consider a broader set and combination of evidence-based treatments for opioid, alcohol, and stimulant use disorders in management of SU
