Advancing 3D Echocardiographic Imaging Skills

Sharpen your expertise in 3D echocardiographic imaging with this hands-on, expert-led workshop designed for echocardiographers and interventionalists, featuring live-streamed lectures, case discussions, and practical training on imaging acquisition, interpretation, and procedural guidance. This comprehensive workshop is tailored for trained and in-training echocardiographers and interventionalists focusing on 3-dimensional echocardiography. Participants will master principles, acquisition, and interpretation of 3D imaging for cardiac procedures, including knobology and nomenclature differences across echocardiography systems. The program emphasizes the physics of 3D imaging, dataset acquisition, optimization, and multiplanar reformatting. Key topics include mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valvular 3D imaging and assessments, left and right ventricular volumetric evaluations, and measurement of cardiac structures relevant to interventional procedures. Interactive lectures, case presentations, and expert discussions will be supplemented by hands-on workshops and live-streamed sessions.

* Date of Original Release: August 15-17, 2025

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of ultrasound physics as applied to 3D imaging, image formation, transducer design, and advanced concepts such as multiplanar reconstruction.
  • Apply advanced 3D imaging concepts, including multiplanar reconstruction and optimized dataset acquisition techniques.
  • Master the steps required to acquire high-quality 3D datasets, optimize imaging, and navigate knobology and system-specific nomenclature.
  • Analyze the complex anatomy of the interatrial septum and key imaging for trans-septal puncture through didactic lectures and case-based panel discussions.
  • Gain in-depth understanding of imaging required for procedures involving the mitral valve, tricuspid valve, left atrial appendage, and LVAD, including volumetric and dimensional assessments.
  • Integrate knowledge from lectures, case presentations, and hands-on training to enhance real-world procedural guidance using 3D echocardiography.
