Comprehensive Neuro and Musculoskeletal Imaging Updates from UCSF Experts
UCSF Neuro and Musculoskeletal Imaging 2026 provides an in-depth review of contemporary neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging, focusing on practical diagnostic strategies, optimized imaging protocols, and real-world case interpretation. Developed by leading UCSF faculty, this comprehensive CME program delivers clinically relevant updates that help radiologists and clinicians improve diagnostic confidence across a broad spectrum of neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders.
Through high-yield lectures, participants will review neuroradiologic emergencies, head and neck pathology, skull base lesions, pediatric and neonatal brain imaging, spine disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, metabolic bone disease, infection imaging, and the expanding role of musculoskeletal ultrasound as a problem-solving tool. Emphasis is placed on accurate image interpretation, protocol optimization, and effective communication with referring clinicians.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recommend appropriate CT and MRI protocols for imaging the brain, head and neck, spine, peripheral nerves, and musculoskeletal system.
- Recognize key imaging findings of head and neck masses, skull base lesions, sella and parasellar disorders, and common treatment-related changes.
- Interpret common internal derangements of major joints and identify important imaging pitfalls involving the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle, and spine.
- Apply musculoskeletal ultrasound effectively as a complementary diagnostic tool in challenging clinical scenarios.
- Identify characteristic imaging features of infectious, inflammatory, metabolic, and autoimmune disorders affecting the brain, spine, bones, and joints.
- Develop practical strategies for evaluating neonatal brain injury, spinal cord disorders, postoperative spine imaging, and other complex neuroradiologic conditions.
